When you say living in Africa, do you mean long-term? Or a month? Are they going there soon or are they there now? Most life insurance applications want to know if you have been out of the country in the last five years and where. Some countries are no problem, while others are a big NO.

Have you tried to search online. There must be some insurer who will insure you. I know Lloyds of London insure internationally. Maybe the source box can help.
