    Right, there’s no database.
Get copies of all the bank statements for the past ten years or so, and see who the insurance company was that she was paying.
OR, the executor of the estate can pay $75 to these guys http://www.mib.com/html/lost-life-insura… who will run a record to see which companies received applications for her in the past ten years. If the policy is older than ten years, though, it’s useless.

Well, when the policy is up for renewal, the company will certainly send an invoice…. someone must have access to her mail!
But I would guess that somewhere in her house is a receipt, a policy, something that will help you contact the company.
As a last resort, begin calling companies. They will ask for the policy number but tell them you can’t find it and then they will ask for her SS number and they will then look in their system…. It might take some calling but it would work…. your father might need to get involved, too….
    god bless

    1. They might not have had life insurance.
    2. An answer that frequently appears here is to check with the medical information bureau, which supposedly can tell you to what companies she applied for life insurance within the past 10(?) years. If the policy is older, that will not work.
    3. If the premiums were paid by check, the canceled checks may be somewhere that you can find.
    4. If the premiums were paid electronically (automatically charged to a bank or credit card account), the bank (or credit card company) will have records.

Are you sure the policy still exists or did they let it lapse prior to her death? Whoever has access to their financial records can search them to see whether premiums were paid.

There is a national data base but it will take time and cost you a little money you will need her Date of Birth, Social Security number and a copy of her death certificate. Then use this link to get you going down the right path. http://www.mib.com/html/lost-life-insura…
    Good luck,
I have had to people use this to find lost policies. So I know it works.

I would think that the insurance company would contact whoever is listed as the beneficiary…
