If you got it free from a mutual fund it is a benefit that comes with the investment account and only remains in effect while you have that account with the mutual fund.
What good is the life insurance to you? No value to you but your Dad could use it to pay for funeral expenses if you passed away.

Life insurance is not an investment. It’s a bet.
This policy is no good to you. It’s only good to your father, if you kick off.
