How Much Should We Expect To Pay For Life Insurance?

Posted January 30, 2010 – 10:16 am in: structured settlements FAQ

We are both non smokers 29 (male) and 25 (Female) we want a 30 year term life for 250K each. No signficant health issues and we would fall under the “standard” category most likely. How much should we be prepared to pay a month?

Every year, Insure.com, surveys 25 leading insurance companies–those with A.M. Best Company ratings of A++ or A+, called “Superior,” and those with ratings of A or A-, considered “Excellent”–to find the lowest rates available for level term life insurance by age and gender. The latest survey was taken on November 12, 2007. According to this survey, at age 30 (the youngest age they survey), you can get a 30-year term life insurance policy with a death benefit of $250,000 for $228 a year ($19 a month). That’s the same for a man or a woman. You might want to get more than $250,000, considering what that amount would buy in, say, 25 years. According to the survey the lowest annual price for a policy with a $500,000 death benefit is $395 for a 30-year policy for you and $325 a year for your wife. To qualify for the lowest rates, you have to be in excellent health yourself, have an excellent family history of health, and not participate in any dangerous sports or hobbies.

My wife and I both just recieved life insurance policies, I am 31, she is 26. We are both in extremely good health, no family history of health problems, no extreme sports. We both were insured at 400k, and we will be paying about 27$ per month/per person. The catch up difference considering I’m male and older is that my health rating was higher than hers, so as a male you can usually expect to pay more. Good luck.

    Male 29 – 19.38 per month
    Female 25 – 15.31 per month
Those were the lowest rates I found here:https://www.expert-quotes.net/term_life_…
You should run your own quote there to be more accurate.
