from what i’ve read most states have done away with common law, so it might not even exist where you are at
No but I would like to know who is the beneficiary.
Actually, you cannot buy life insurance for somebody else other then a spouse so the insurance agent should not sell the policy to you. He can sell it to them and they can name you as beneficiary.
Also, there are very few common law states left. i think the total is 4. Even if you lived in a common law state, this would not make you common law spouses.
depends on the state you live in
in my state the just OUTLAWED common law marriage like a year ago I think so if I were to get life insurance on my partner then NO we would not be Common law just have them put you down as the beneficiary not the SPOUSE
LOL.
Since you have access to a computer, look up the definition of common law marriage and then look up your governed state to see if this applies to you.

You need to have an insurable interest to obtain insurance.

Only if you stop putting out, and make thier life a living hell.
