A Family Member Refuses To Give Me Appropriate Information Concerning A Life Insurance ?

It has been months (June 08) since I was told …a pension and life insurance policy benefits would be available to me following my Dad’s death…it is now Dec 08 and I still have nothing..it is difficult for me to access information when pertinent information if being with held from me…I am living in another country which makes an extra hardship regarding phone calls.

    You need to contact the solicitor dealing with the estate.

    being out of the country is not helping and by phone it is impossible to prove who you are under data protection they are certainly not going to give up info over the phone

    Go to the Dept. of public records in your community online and apply for a death certificate for your father. Then contact the company your father worked for, and inquire to all of the insurance companies that you think he may have had a policy with.
    If you are talking a lot of money, hire an attorney to investigate and recover your inheritance and benefits.
    Eventually, it will be revealed as unclaimed property in the state in which the policy was written, provided you are the beneficiary, and no one else could claim it.
